Minor Changes to League Regulations
We appreciate the time and effort you have put into the game. We have also received many comments. After thorough discussions and considerations amongst all our committee members, we have decided to make some changes to our League Regulations effective from this Sunday as follows:
All the changes will take effect from Sunday, August 12
1) Referee System - from “1 Referee + 2 Linesmen” to “2 Referees”:
We will use 2 referees for each game. They will also act as linesmen.
2) In the last 2 mins in the 3rd period, if the goal differential between the two teams is fewer than or equal to 2 goals, we will use stop clock. Once the goal differential is larger than 2 goals during the stop clock mode, running clock will resume after the puck has been dropped.
聯賽條款將有稍作修改
本會感謝閣下參與我們的聯賽及在賽事中所作的努力。我們又聽取了很多寶貴的意見。委員會成員在細心商議後, 決定作出以下的賽例改變:
所有更改將由本星期日八月十二日開始實施。
1) 裁判員制度：將由一名裁判員加兩名司線員改為兩名裁判員。每場賽事均由兩名裁判員執法，他們同時負責司線員的職務。
2) 在賽事中第三節最後兩分鐘內, 如果雙方之入球差別是兩球或以下, 我們將會使用停鐘模式 。如果, 在停鐘模式進行中，入球差別超過兩球, 我們將會在下次開球後恢復不停鐘模式。
Typhoon Arrangements for Hockey League & Sessions
In the event of a Typhoon Signal 8 or 10 being hoisted, all HKAHC events including the Sunday League at MegaIce, and the “Stick and Puck” and “Learning from Barry” Sessions at Sky Rink will be cancelled. The following rules will apply:
* If Signal 8 or 10 is still in effect past 3:00 pm of that day, the rinks will be closed for the remainder of the day. All HKAHC events will be cancelled.
* If Signal 8 or 10 is lowered or removed before 3:00 pm, all HKAHC events will be held as scheduled.
* Should the Hong Kong Observatory announce plans to issue or raise the Typhoon warning to Signal 8 or 10, all HKAHC events will also be cancelled.
冰球賽事或活動在颱風襲港時的特別安排
如天文台已發出八號或十號颱風信號。香港業餘冰球會將取消所有活動，包括
所有聯賽及賽事、「持球棍帶球」和 「Learning from Barry」訓練班，直至天文台落下八號或十號颱風信號。特別安排如下：
�� 如當日下午三時後八號或十號之颱風信號仍然懸掛。當日之所有活動將會取消。
�� 如當日下午三時前八號或十號之颱風信號經已落下。當日之所有活動將會照常舉行。
�� 如天文台宣佈準備發出八號或十號之颱風信號，當日之所有活動將會取消。

Sunday "Stick & Puck" and "Learning from Barry" Sessions Change Schedule
This is to notify that on July 29 and August 5, the “Stick and Puck" session at Dragon Centre Sky Rink will take place from 7:30pm to 8:30pm while the "Learning from Barry" session from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. Players who interested in attending these sessions are reminded to note these schedule changes.

HKAHC appears in TVB game show on Tuesday, 24 July
HKAHC has sent a team to take part in a TVB game show, which will be broadcast at TVB Jade Channel tomorrow (Tuesday, 24 July) at 10:35 pm. The HKAHC team was led by its Chairman, Thomas Wu and team members included Laputa Poon, Matthew Cheung, Henry Lau, Jacky Tse, Bengy Hui and Scott Yang.
Although the HKAHC team did not win the quiz game, all team members enjoyed the game very much. More importantly, the event to be broadcast over TVB's evening prime time would greatly enhance public awareness of the ice hockey sport, which HKAHC has been promoting.
Also, HKAHC would like to thank Matthew and Henry who had donated the $2,000 in cash that they won from the game to HKAHC to support its activities.
So, please tune in to TVB Jade tomorrow evening to support your HKAHC team and let's enjoy the game show.

香港業餘冰球會派隊參加本周二播出的無線翡翠台「最緊要進步」遊戲節目
香港業餘冰球會早前派隊參加無線電視台之「最緊要進步」遊戲節目錄影製作, 該集節目將於明天7月24日(星期二) 晚上10時35分於無線翡翠台播出。本會主席胡文新先生親自帶領隊員出賽, 隊員包括潘嘉華先生､張駿先生､劉凱恆先生､謝天健先生､許衍斌先生及楊子滔先生。
雖然今次本會未能在遊戲中勝出, 但所有出席之隊員均享受了遊戲的樂趣。勝負並不重要, 最重要的是本會能透過黃金時段播出的節目推廣及讓更多人士認識冰球運動。
另外, 本會很多謝張駿先生及劉凱恆先生將當日在遊戲中贏得的 $2,000 金捐贈予本會作為支持本會未來的活動。 咁記住聽晚扭去無線翡翠台睇下, 支持本會一番!

“Stick and Puck” & “Learning from Barry” Sessions at Dragon Centre on Sundays – Important Notice to Participating Players |

“Stick and Puck” & “Learning from Barry” Sessions at Dragon Centre on Sundays – Important Notice to Participating Players
Starting from coming Sunday (July 22), all skaters of the Stick and Puck session are required to wear gloves and helmet. Players attending the “Learning from Barry” session are also required to wear all protective gears before they are allowed to go on ice.
Also starting from July 22, players who have registered for the “Stick and Puck” and/or the “Learning from Barry” sessions but fail to show up, will be charged for the full amount of the sessions that they have registered.
Players who wish to cancel any registered Sunday sessions must notify HKAHC on or before 5 pm on the Friday immediately before their registered session(s) so that we can offer the reserved spot to other players on the waiting list. Otherwise, they will be charged the full amount of the session(s).

由本星期日(7月22日)開始, 參加「持球棍」滑冰練習的人士, 必須穿戴手套和頭盔。而參加「Learning from Barry」課程的人士, 更須佩帶全套保護裝備。
此外, 由本星期日開始, 凡已報名登記參加該項課程的人士, 如要取消登記, 必須在課程舉行兩日之前, 即每個星期五下午5時或之前通知 HKAHC, 以便將騰出之空缺給予其他輪候的人士; 否則我們會向該報名人士收取所報課程之全部費用, 敬請各位球員體諒及合作。如有任何查詢或問題, 請電郵bengy.hui@hkahc.com 或致電 Bengy 2863-4365。

After first week of our summer season. We would like to adjust our game format as follow
*3 minutes warm up (no change)
*13 minutes per period x 3 periods (change from 12 minutes to 13 minutes)
*45 seconds for intermission (change from 1 minute to 45 seconds)
*One 30-second time out per team (no change)
*No OT (no change)
*No shoot out (no change)
All the changes will allow more ice time for participating teams to enjoy the fun of the sport

Register Early for Sunday Evening Practice Sessions at Dragon Centre
What will you do Sunday night if you don’t have a hockey game to play?
Bring your gear down to Dragon Centre Sky Rink. HKAHC has arranged a stick and puck session from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Sundays for you to practice your skating and puck control.
If you wish to polish your hockey skills, we have also arranged a “Learning from Barry” session from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Sundays. Barry, our head coach, who was a former New York Rangers captain, Team Canada member, and inductee of the BC Hockey of Fame, will go over with you your skating skills, puck control, passing, shooting and teamwork.
Also, HKAHC charges a very special fee for these practice sessions this summer as follows:
* Stick and Puck (1 hour): $80 (Members), $100 (Non-Members)
* Learning from Barry (2 hours): $200 (Members), $250 (Non-Members)
If you are interested or have any further questions, please email Bengy at bengy.hui@hkahc.com or call him at 2863-4365 during office hours before Wednesday each week.
Please register early as spots are limited and accepted on a first come first served basis. Drop-in attendance on Sundays are welcome but there is no guarantee of an available spot.

Summer League at Megabox
HKAHC summer league started smoothly at the new rink in Megabox last Sunday. Everyone had great fun and enjoyed playing in the full-size rink. So, see you all again on the ice coming Sunday.

Summer Hockey Fun
Due to overwhelming registration for our summer league, we now have 5 teams for the premiere division and 5 teams for the regular division. The schedule is already uploaded on our web. The roster will also be uploaded.
夏季聯賽隊伍增至十隊
由於夏季聯賽報名人數非常熱烈, 本會現在決定增加隊伍到高級組5隊和初級組5隊。賽程表已在本會網頁刊出。球員名單將會於稍後公佈。
Invitation to attend the 2nd East Asia Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament in Beijing in October
HKAHC has just received an invitation from the Chinese Hosa Ice Hockey Club in Beijing to attend their 2nd East Asia Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament to be held in the Hosa Ice Sport Stadium in Beijing from October 2 to 5, 2007.There will be a total of 10 teams from the East Asia region taking part.
We are considering to form a team to attend the Beijing Tournament in October. The participation fee per player is about HK$2,500, which will include the following:
- Return economy class air ticket by Shenzhen Airline from Shenzhen to Beijing, departing for Beijing on Oct 1 and returning to Shenzhen on Oct 5;
- 4 night’s accommodation in Beijing;
- At least 5 games;
- Invitation to the Award Presentation Dinner.

中國浩沙冰球俱樂部邀請香港業餘冰球會派隊參加本年10月2 日至5 日在北京舉行的東亞地區第二屆業餘冰球邀請賽, 屈時, 預計會有一共10支東亞地區球隊參與。
本會正考慮組隊出席北京比賽。參賽球員費用約為港幣$2,500,包括以下項目:
- 來回北京及深圳經濟艙機票，乘坐深圳航空公司從深圳前往北京, 出發日期10月1 日和回程日期10月5 日;
- 4 晚在北京住宿;
- 至少5 場比賽，
- 邀請出席頒獎晚宴。

Summer League to start on July 8
HKAHC summer league will start on July 8 Sunday at MEGABOX. So far, 9 teams have registered - 5 teams in the regular division and 4 teams in the premiere division. The team rosters and schedule will be posted on our website later this week. Beijing Training Camp Postponed
We regret to inform all that due to the unavailability of most players in the summer, the planned Beijing camp in July 27-29 has to be postponed until further notice. We would wish to express our gratitude to those who have expressed interest. Thank you all very much for your support of HKAHC.

Good News to Summer League Players: Early Bird Deadline pushed back to June 15
HKAHC is now taking Summer League registrations. This summer, league games will be held in the new Megabox ice rink, Kowloon Bay.
For Premiere Division, there will be 8 games per team; and for Regular Division, there will be 7 to 8 games per team.
As for League Fee, if you pay on or before 3 pm of June 15 , the fee is $1,280 each for skaters and $640 for goalies. After that date, we will charge the normal fee of $1,500 each for skaters and $750 for goalies.

You can send a cheque made payable to “Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club Ltd” to HKAHC at 64/F, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, for the attention of Bengy Hui

ll Players Enjoyed the Try-Out Session at Megabox on Saturday
The HKAHC try-out games in the new international sized rink at Megabox, Kowloon Bay on Saturday, June 9 was a big success. Four Premiere Division teams and two Regular Division teams comprising almost 100 players took part in the try-out. This was the first time the players played on big ice surface in Hong Kong and everyone had fun and enjoyed their time on ice.
HKAHC would like to take this opportunity to thank all participating members and friends for their stern support of the Club. A special thanks also go to the management of Megabox and the Rink Management Group for their support in making available the rink for the try-out session.
At the same time, should you have any feedback or comments about the try-out session or the new ice rink please e-mail bengy.hui@hkahc.com.
Meanwhile, HKAHC has sponsored a team to take part in the World Hockey 5 games at Megabox from June 10-17. The team’s first game was against HK Hitmen on June 10. It will play against UAE at 11:30 pm on June 11; against Dexion Wildcats at 1:15 am on June 14; and against Macau at 3:15 pm on June 16.
香港業餘冰球會於6月9 日在九龍灣Megabox,試用全新國際標準的溜冰場, 。四隊高級組和二隊初級組合共大約100 位球員試用了新溜冰場。這次是球員第一次在香港的國際標準場地作比賽，大家獲得無限樂趣和新的體驗。
香港業餘冰球會藉此機會感謝所有參與的會員和朋友們的大力支持。並特別感謝Megabox和Rink management Group 的管理層對本會的支持及提供場地予本會試用能夠舉行這次試用比賽。
