The Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club (HKAHC), was established in 2001 and is a non-profit making sport association aiming to promote the sport of ice hockey with a view to making it a sport for all in Hong Kong.
Since 2003, the Club has been hosting the annual International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament and welcomed the teams from over 7 regions and countries, including Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, the Philippines and Taiwan.
The prime objective of the International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament (IAIHT) is to facilitate international exchange of sport culture and to enhance awareness of the sport of ice hockey with a view to promoting and developing it as a sport for all in Hong Kong.
2010, the eighth year of the Tournament, which has had gradually becoming a prevalent annual sporting event in the territory. The previous games were strongly supported by both local and overseas players and were well received by the media and the general public. The Tournament is widely reported by press each year and has been credited by the Hong Kong government’s “Brand Hong Kong” initiative since 2007.
IAIHT brings the City an unique exciting annual sporting event. It offers the people in Hong Kong a sport full of excitement, fun and gear beyond the tradition.
