2007 Tournament A Big Success

It has been another year and another successful HKAHC event.  The 2007 Citi-HKAHC International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament over the weekend was successfully completed. This year the tournament took place on an international sized rink at MegaBox.  The games were intense and the teams played their best.  With teams coming from China, Canada, Japan, Canada, Macau and the Philippines and 3 HKAHC teams, the tournament was packed with action and excitement throughout the 2 days of games.

Hundreds of spectators and fans were present at the ice rink for all games. However, the most crowded and most exciting game was the final between Beijing Hosa and the Canada Delta Police.  Their game was intense and fast.  Fans cheered for their favorite teams from the benches around the rink while flags representing both team's countries were waving in the background.  When the dust settled, the Beijing Hosa team was triumphant in taking the Gold Cup by a score of 3 - 1 over Canada Delta Police.  Although the game was intense the two teams shook hands and showed that the sport of hockey is truly about sportsmanship.

The Gold Cup was then presented to the Beijing Hosa Team Manager and player, Mr. Zhang Yuan, by HKAHC Chairman Thomas Wu.

In other divisions, the Mitsubishi Japan team came out on top in the silver plate division defeating the Macau Ice Sports Federation team by a score of 5 - 3.  HKAHC Yellow Team was the winner of the Bauhinia division by edging the Manila Comets by a score of 3 - 1.

A BIG thankyou to all participating players. Without them, this tournament could not have happened. We are very thankful to all the sponsors that have contributed so much to the sport of ice hockey in Hong Kong and to the tournament. And last but not least we are also very thankful to Mr Barry Beck, General Manager and Coach of Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey, for his efforts in coaching the HK teams, Mr Joe Bennett, a well-experienced professional referee in Canada, for making a special trip to Hong Kong to help enhance the standard of our referees, as well as all those who had helped out in the planning and organization of the tournament and to all hockey fans for their whole-hearted support in keeping this sport growing in Hong Kong.

香港國際業餘冰球邀請賽圓滿結束

香港業餘冰球會再一次成功完成國際業餘冰球邀請賽。2007 花旗集團香港業餘冰球會國際業餘冰球邀請賽在週末期間圓滿結束。今年比賽在MegaBox一個國際標準的溜冰場上舉行。賽事非常之激烈並且所有隊伍都有出色的表現。來自中國、加拿大、日本、加拿大、澳門和 菲律賓 和3支香港業餘冰球會隊伍, 興奮比賽過程在2 天內舉行。
上百觀眾在溜冰場丘觀看所有比賽。但是, 擁擠和多數最扣人心弦的比賽是決賽在北京浩沙和加拿大迪爾他警察隊。他們的比賽非常之激烈。觀眾歡呼為他們喜愛的球隊打氣。北京浩沙最後而3-1戰勝加拿大迪爾他警察隊。雖然比賽激烈但雙方隊員握手表露友好。
金杯由香港業餘冰球會主席胡文新先生然交給北京浩沙隊經理和球員, 張遠先生,。其它分組賽事, 三菱日本隊5 - 3擊敗澳門冰上運動總會成功獲得了銀碟組冠軍。香港業餘冰球會黃隊在洋紫組荊擊敗馬尼拉彗星隊3 - 1勝出。
再次多謝所有參與球員。沒有他們, 這個邀請賽是不能發生□。我們是非常感激對香港冰球體育的所有主辦者。並且最後我們非常感激那些在比賽計劃和組織並且對所有冰球迷為他們真心實意的支持在保留這體育發展。

HKAHC, a non-profit-making sports association, successfully organized its first international amateur ice hockey tournament in 2003.  Since then, the tournament has become a popular annual ice hockey event in Hong Kong.  The objectives of the tournament are to facilitate international exchange of sport culture and to increase awareness of the sport of ice hockey with a view to promoting and developing it as a sport for all in Hong Kong.

This year (2007), HKAHC will hold its 5th annual International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament on 15-16 September. We believe that with the support of all hockey players, volunteer workers, Hong Kong Tourism Board, sponsors and sports organizations – ice hockey will become more popular among the local population and the future of the development of ice hockey in Hong Kong will be as bright as ever.

香港業餘冰球會屬於非牟利體育團體，於2003年舉辦了第一屆國際業餘冰球邀請賽，由於成功順利舉辦，並得到市民及媒體的支持及參與，自此成為一年一度的冰球盛事。賽事目的是希望能為香港冰球運動員提供促進國際交流的機會，和提高冰球活動在香港的認受性，從而推廣冰球在香港的發展，成為普及的體育項目之一。

本年度( 2007年)「國際業餘冰球邀請賽」已踏入五週年; 在各冰球員、義務工作者、香港旅遊發展局、贊助單位和各體育組織的鼎力支持及齊心協力下，本會深信在未來的日子裡，香港的冰球發展將會更添光輝。
