HKAHC 2009 Summer League now Opens for Registration

HKAHC is planning to form 3 Divisions this coming HKAHL Summer season at Mega Ice.

1) Elite Training Program practices and games will starts on Tuesdays and Sundays from May 26 – September 15, 2009

In co-operation with HKAIH, HKAHC is hosting an Elite Training Program this summer. Selected players are being invited to take part in the program which will enable them to learn about the power of the team from Coach Barry Beck. The training program will include learning about player positioning, attacking tactics, defending tactics & basic fitness. Subject to the availability of team spots and individual skills and performance, participating players will have the opportunity to be invited to play in our annual international amateur ice hockey tournament in September.

We would like to have a total of 3 teams participate in this Elite Training Program. We would like to have 13 Skaters + 1 goalie per team. There are total of 12 practice sessions and total of 6 Training Games per Team + 1 bonus Game as Final. The selected players will have to pay the League Fee and will be asked to attend most of the practices. Summer league fee for this program is $ 2,700, half price for the Goalies.

Participating players of this Elite Training Program are required to be fully committed to the Program. They are therefore not allowed to take part in any Premiere and Regular Mixed Division games which happen to fall on the same days as our training program. Also, this invitation is not transferable.

2) Premiere & Regular mixed Division games will be on Sundays from June 14 to September 13, 2009

By mixing the 2 divisions, we are hoping to see the higher level players could help out the intermediate level players to improve their hockey skill through the joy of playing ice hockey.

We would like to have a total of 8 teams participate in this division. A team which enters this division must have at least 13 skaters & a goalie to register. For each team, there will be 7 regular games, 1-3 playoff games. Summer league fee for this division is $ 1,950, half price for the Goalies.

Part-Time Players: $300 per game for Skaters / $150 per game for Goalies
Second Game for Full time and Part time Players in the same night: $100 per extra game for Skaters / Free for Goalies

For those who wanted to form your own team, please submit your team players list on or before May 9. For those individual players, please submit your name, playing position to: havefun@hkahc.com

3) Novice & Regular mixed Division games will be on Tuesdays from May 12 to August 11, 2009

This division is designated for beginner only, but we also would like to invite some intermediate level players to improve the beginners' hockey skill through the joy of playing ice hockey.

We would like to have a total of 4 teams participate in this division. For each team, there will be 7 regular games, 2 playoff games. A team which enters this division must have at least 13 skaters & a goalie to register. Summer league fee for this division is $ 1,600, half price for the Goalies.

Part-Time Players: $190 per game for Skaters / $95 per game for Goalies
Second Game for Full time and Part time Players in the same night: $60 per extra game for Skaters / Free for Goalies

香港業餘冰球會正計劃在2009年度的夏季聯賽舉辦三個不同組別的比賽，分別為資深組、進階組和基礎組。基礎組則於5月12日至8月11日(每週星期二晚)舉行比賽。進階組將會在6月14日至9月13日(每週星期日晚)舉行比賽, 而資深組將會在5月26日至9月15日(每週星期二及日晚)舉行比賽或練習

資深組聯賽各有12場練習和6-7場賽事。

香港，2009年3月9日 - 香港冰球訓練學校(HKAIH)主席胡文新先生，理事潘嘉華先生及總教練包比利先生﹙MR BARRY BECK，前職業冰球選手，曾任紐約騎兵隊隊長5年。同時是加拿大卑詩省冰球名人館成員及前加拿大國家冰球隊成員﹚於上週末(3月7日)專程赴台北參觀市政府興建的台北小巨蛋副館 - 台灣小巨蛋冰上樂園，並進行交流訪問活動，分享兩岸三地對冰球推廣發展的經驗，為日後更多的緊密合作打下良好基礎，並鞏固彼此之間珍貴的冰球友誼。

香港冰球訓練學校總教練包比利先生首度赴台，欣悉台灣有甚多民眾喜歡並熟悉冰球運動，感到非常驚喜！包教練表示：「台灣喜歡冰上運動的民眾真的很幸福，有一個這麼舒適的場地！而且有這麼多小孩子都由父母親陪同參與，這真的是一個值得鼓勵及學習的地方。這次香港舉辦了"2009中銀保誠HKAHC華人業餘冰球邀請賽"，使台灣的學童有機會到香港參與國際技術交流，希望下次我也能帶香港的學童來台灣參與類似的活動，讓球員從小就培養良好的國際友誼默契，未來冰球運動的發展將無可限量！」

香港冰球訓練學校的胡文新主席與小巨蛋營運管理中心張昱勝股長在經驗分享中就發現，雖然台灣與香港冰球參與的人口背景結構上就有些許不同，但仍然有很多交流的空間。雙方皆表示未來不排除也在內地或台灣、香港舉辦國際業餘賽事，進行技術交流。

去年，在香港舉辦的首屆兩岸四地業餘冰球邀請賽反應熱烈，今年續辦，並得到台灣（北極星）國際冰球學校派出「台北銀獸成年隊」與「少年隊」來港參賽，亦促成這次香港冰球訓練學校赴台交流之機會。
香港業餘冰球會舉辦的「2009中銀保誠 HKAHC華人業餘冰球邀請賽」 謹定於2009年4月3至5日假香港九龍灣MegaBox溜冰場舉行。參賽隊伍包括︰

We will use the best scores in the individual games of each player to determine the individual game winner in our HKAHC Bowling Tournament. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winner

We will also ask the eight players with the highest points to be Team captains and draft a team in descending order 1st to 8th

Team Competition:

After forming the team, we will all bowl 2 games. The highest scores of each team members in either the 1st or 2nd game will add up together to determine which team is the winner in our 2009 HKAHC Bowling Tournament.

Barry教練是前紐約騎兵隊隊長, 前加拿大國家冰球隊成員和加拿大卑詩省冰球名人館成員。在十二月九日和十六日晚上八時半至十時半, 他將會出席WIHO練習時段教大家冰球技巧。費用為每日每名球員收取二百五十元，守門員為每位一百元。

Step 1: Simply pick 12 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies from the current roster of your own division.
Step 2: Submit the Star Players selection with your name, contact number and email to allstargame@hkahc.com.

- Voting will only occur in the Regular division and the Premiere Division.
- Final date for taking voting is 12:00pm, December 20th, 2008.

Schedule Change!

1) Due to a Chinese holiday, Dongzhi*, ALL games on Dec 21st will be postpone until a later date. The new schedule will be posted up soon. Dongzhi* - is a traditional event in the lunar Calendar where people will go home to enjoy a big dinner with their family.

2) All Star game will be also postponed to Jan, 2009.

Assistant Coach Hired for HKAIH
As many of you have noticed there was a new face on the ice this last weekend.  Kyle Simms is from Canada and has worked with kids from various backgrounds.  His referee credentials are also quite impressive having worked in different leagues all over western Canada and the United States.  As assistant coach to Barry Beck, Kyle will be busy with working with students of the academy and by doing so he will assist in helping to grow the sport of ice hockey in Hong Kong.  Please welcome Kyle to Hong Kong the next time you see him at the rink.

China Makes Winter Olympics 2010
The Chinese National Women's Ice Hockey team was successful in attaining a spot in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics yesterday when they defeated the Japan by a score of 2-0.  HKAHC congratulates the team for their hard earned spot and will continue to support them through the 2010 Winter Olympics.

New Rule
As the HKAHC continues to grow, amendments to rules may be necessary to improve game play at various levels.  A new rule will be put in place to facilitate this need. 

Please note the following: if a team ices the puck, they will no longer be allowed to make a change of players before the next face-off.  This rule will be enforced starting on November 16th, 2008.  This rule has been put in place to help speed the pace of the game up and as a result giving more ice time to the players.  Here at the HKAHC we strive to improve the environment of game play that all of us play in.  Thank you again for all of your support and we'll see you at the rink.

HKAHL 2008-2009 Novice Division still opens for Registration

The brand new Novice Division* will take place on Tuesday nights and we still have spots open!
League Fee for the Novice Division (ND) at MegaIce
There will be 12 games in total + playoff games (The number of playoff games depends on the number of participating teams)
Early bird league fee is $ 2000, half price for the Goalies (Sportsmanship rebate is not available in this Division)
* Please kindly note that the new Novice Division is intended to allow beginners or lower level players to enjoy and to develop their teamwork through the games. Therefore, higher level players once identified might be moved to other higher divisions as appropriate. The Novice Division early bird discounted offer is now extended and it will be ended on Oct 28. After that date, the League fee will be $2400.

全新的新秀組*，在星期二晚舉行比賽。
新秀組聯賽在MegaIce的舉行
新秀組別有12場賽事，另加季後賽(但季後賽場數則視乎參賽隊伍數目而定)
率先報名費用為$2000，守門員半價(體育精神回贈不適用於此組別)

[*注意事項: 新秀組別是特別為初學者或水平較低的球員而設，如有球員的冰球技巧超越這個水平，他們有可能被分配至其他較高水平的組別。]率先報名費用將在10月28日結束，之後新秀組費用為$2400。

Summer League ended.

Our Summer League has just been successful completed. We trust that everyone enjoyed very much playing at Mega Ice.

We would like to congratulate Cyclops for winning the Summer League Premiere Division Championship and SamWai R the Regular Division Championship.
