HKAHC is pleased to announce that we have invited a qualified official to conduct a referee clinic next week.
The clinic program is scheduled as follows:

Time: 19:00-21:00
Location: 64/F., Hopewell Centre**

* Participants should attend all sessions in order to receive the full benefits of the clinic.
**One of the dates above will be used as an on-ice clinic as well. The location and time for the on ice clinic will be announced shortly but will be from 28th to 30th of May.

Currently there is a severe shortage of officials in our organization. We therefore encourage every one who is interested in becoming an official to join our family. The referee clinic is free of charge.

Mournings for Sichuan Earthquake Victims

HKAHC announces that before the start of all games in the coming 2 weeks, all players will observe a 1-minute silence for the victims of last Monday's Sichuan earthquake.

HKAHC宣佈，在本周及下周的賽事開始前，所有參賽隊伍均會默哀一分鐘，以悼念四川地震死難者。

The 2008 BOCI HKAHC Amateur Hockey Tournament

Hong Kong-s first ever cross-strait amateur ice hockey tournament will take place at Mega Ice next weekend. Three club teams from Beijing, Macau and Taipei and a HKAHC team will take part. The games will be played from 9 am to 11 am and from 8 pm to 10 pm on Saturday (31 May) and from 8 am to 1 pm on Sunday (1 June). Also, for the first time in Hong Kong-s ice hockey history, the championship game on Sunday (1 June) will be broadcasted by TVB Pearl live with bilingual commentaries. Do come and support your fellow players. 

HKAHC also aims to make a significant donation to be raised from the event sponsors to relief organizations via the Home Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Government to help victims of the Sichuan earthquake.

第一屆HKAHC兩岸四地業餘冰球邀請賽

HKAHC 將於下周末舉辦香港第一屆兩岸四地業餘冰球邀請賽，賽事將於九龍灣MegaIce舉行，參賽隊伍分來自北京、台北、澳門及HKAHC。比賽舉行時間為星期六(5月31日)上午9時至11時及晚上8時至10時，和星期日(6月1日)上午8 時至下午1時。TVB明珠台將雙語直播於星期日中午12時至下午1時舉行的冠軍賽，這將是香港冰球史上第一次電視直播本港冰球比賽。懇請屆時蒞場支持及指導。

HKAHC並將由賽事贊助商籌募善款，捐助四川地震受影響的同胞。

2008 HKAHC Annual Season-End Award Presentation on 1 June

HKAHC Wins Mega Ice 5 Tournament Asian B Division Championship

On May 10, the HKAHC team played against WIHO Flames in Mega Ice 5 Tournament's Asia B Division final. HKAHC beat WIHO by 4-1 and became the Division Champ. Our team player Ivan Chan was awarded the MVP in Asian B Division. Our heartfelt congratulations to all players of the HKAHC team!

HKAHC Appeals for Donations to Help China Earthquake Victims

HKAHC appeals to fellow players to make donations to help the victims of the recent earthquakes in China. Mr. Bengy Hui will collect your donations at Mega Ice during our coming games these coming Sundays (May 18 & May 25).

Donations collected will be given to local relief organizations such as Hong Kong Red Cross in the name of Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club. Individual donors donating $100 or more will be given an individual receipt for tax exemption claims upon request.
We understand many of you may have already made donations.

Donations of any amount are welcome. Every dollar helps. It is the heart for helping the victims that counts. Thank you very much for your kind and generous support.

香港業餘冰球會發起賑災募捐行動，懇請各位球員齊心為中國四川省的災難者施予援手。Mr. Bengy 將於本星期日，即5月18日和5月25日在球賽期間在 Mega Ice收集捐款。

本會會將所得的捐款，以「香港業餘冰球會」名義捐予本地賑災機構，如香港紅十字會。個別人士如有需要，將會獲發收據以作減稅用途 (只適用於捐款HK$100以上之人士)。

雖然有很多球員可能已為這次災難作出捐助，但是，捐款數目多寡並不重要，各位所捐的每一分一亳都能幫助國內的災民。故此，本會很感激你們的慷慨支持及捐款。

Congratulations to Team Hong Kong

HKAHC congratulates Team Hong Kong for winning the 2nd Runners-Up at the 2008 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia held in Hong Kong on April 24-26. Chinese Taipei won the Challenge Cup while Team Malaysia the 1st Runners-Up. Other teams taking part in the event included Team Macau, Team Singapore and Team Thailand.

Eligible for Playoffs

For AHL 2007-2008, there will be 15 season games for both divisions. All skaters (Full Time or Part Time) have to attend at least 8 games in order to become eligible to play in the playoffs. This rule does not apply to Goalies.
Each player may register for only one team in each division.

07-08年度香港業餘冰球賽，兩個組別常規賽共有十五場。所有球員(包括全職或兼職球員)都需要為各下所屬之球隊出賽最少八場方可代表該支球隊參加季後賽。這項條例不適用於守門員。每名球員只可在每個組別代表一支球隊參加季後賽。

With effect from Sunday, February 17, HKAHC will introduce new arrangements for the “Stick & Puck” and “Learning from Barry” sessions at Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po.

Members who are interested in attending the “Stick & Puck” and/or “Learning from Barry” sessions on Sundays are required to register with HKAHC on or before Wednesday of that week . Once your registration is confirmed, the charge for the session/s will be levied. In other words, no-shows will still be charged.

HKAHC reserves the right to cancel the “Stick & Puck” and/or “Learning from Barry” sessions if there is insufficient number of registered participants.

The Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey will be holding its courses from February to June 2008.

Our course has been put together by our General Manager Coach, Barry Beck to suit the needs of Hong Kong children learning ice hockey.  Each course will include sixteen on ice sessions held at the Dragon Centre Sky Rink and will also include eight fitness sessions held at the YMCA King’s Park Centenary Centre in Yau Ma Tei.

Barry Beck was a pro hockey player in the NHL and was the captain of the New York Rangers for five years.
Here is the course information for your reference.

Each consists of 16 lessons on ice and 8 sessions of fitness for a total of 24 lessons for a price of HKD$3200.00
Beginner 1A - Wednesday fitness session 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 20th of February, 2008
Beginner 1A - Thursday on ice 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 21st of February, 2008
 
Beginner 1B - Wednesday fitness session 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 20th of February, 2008
Beginner 1B - Saturday on ice 8:30 am - 9:30 am starting 23rd of February, 2008
Course duration: February to June 2008

Great news, now the“Stick & Puck”and Learning from Barry are extended to Sunday Dec 16th. “Stick & Puck” starts at 6:30pm and “Learning from Barry” starts at 7:30pm. There are only 20 spots available for “Learning from Barry” each week and all spots are on a first come first serve basis. FREE TRY-OUT FOR HKAHC MEMBERS AT NEW RINK ON OCTOBER 8

Thanks to the senior management of the ice rink at the newly opened shopping mall "Elements" at MTR Kowloon Station, Tsim Sha Tsui, HKAHC will have a 3 hour free try out sessions at new rink on Monday, October 8, 2007 from 7:00 pm.

On October 8, we plan to organize 3 games. Due to the size of the new rink, the games will be played on a 4 on 4 format. In other words, there will only be 72 spots for skaters and 6 spots for Goalies.

HKAHC Members who are interested in taking part in the try-out sessions are strongly advised to register early. Acceptance is based on a first come first served basis with priority given to full time players of the current HKAHL League, to be followed by part time players, and then other members.

本會得到地鐵九龍站 Elements 商場新落成啟用的全新溜冰管理層的大力支持，免費給予本會會員於10月8日星期日晚上7時至10時，一連三個小時，試用新溜冰場。我們會舉辦3場比賽，以4打4形式比賽。所以我們只有72個球員和6個守門員名額，名額有限，先到先得。冬季聯賽的全職球員將有優先權，繼而為冬季聯賽的半職球員，然後是本會其他會員。

Summer League ended.
Our Summer League has just been successful completed. We trust that everyone enjoyed very much playing in the new rink at Mega Ice.

We would like to congratulate Cyclops for winning the Summer League Premiere Division Championship and Kings the Regular Division Championship. Once again, thank you all for your participation and support of HKAHC. Looking forward to seeing you again in our Winter League which is due to start on September 23.
