Congratulations to Team Hong Kong

HKAHC congratulates Team Hong Kong for winning the 2nd Runners-Up at the 2008 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia held in Hong Kong on April 24-26. Chinese Taipei won the Challenge Cup while Team Malaysia the 1st Runners-Up. Other teams taking part in the event included Team Macau, Team Singapore and Team Thailand.

國際冰聯亞洲冰球挑戰盃方於4月24日至26日在港舉行.參賽隊伍分別來至澳門, 台北, 馬來西亞, 新加坡, 泰國 及香港. 經過三天的激戰, 香港隊勇奪第三名, 可喜可賀. 結果台北隊奪得錦標,馬來西亞隊得第二名.

The Croatian National Ice Hockey Team will come to Hong Kong this week to take part in the Croatia Week in Hong Kong activities being organized by the Croatian Embassy in Beijing and the Croatian Consulate in Hong Kong. Eligible for Playoffs

For AHL 2007-2008, there will be 15 season games for both divisions. All skaters (Full Time or Part Time) have to attend at least 8 games in order to become eligible to play in the playoffs. This rule does not apply to Goalies.
Each player may register for only one team in each division.

With effect from Sunday, February 17, HKAHC will introduce new arrangements for the “Stick & Puck” and “Learning from Barry” sessions at Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po.

Members who are interested in attending the “Stick & Puck” and/or “Learning from Barry” sessions on Sundays are required to register with HKAHC on or before Wednesday of that week . Once your registration is confirmed, the charge for the session/s will be levied. In other words, no-shows will still be charged.

HKAHC reserves the right to cancel the “Stick & Puck” and/or “Learning from Barry” sessions if there is insufficient number of registered participants.

The Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey will be holding its courses from February to June 2008.

Our course has been put together by our General Manager Coach, Barry Beck to suit the needs of Hong Kong children learning ice hockey.  Each course will include sixteen on ice sessions held at the Dragon Centre Sky Rink and will also include eight fitness sessions held at the YMCA King’s Park Centenary Centre in Yau Ma Tei.

Barry Beck was a pro hockey player in the NHL and was the captain of the New York Rangers for five years.
Here is the course information for your reference.

Each consists of 16 lessons on ice and 8 sessions of fitness for a total of 24 lessons for a price of HKD$3200.00
Beginner 1A - Wednesday fitness session 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 20th of February, 2008
Beginner 1A - Thursday on ice 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 21st of February, 2008
 
Beginner 1B - Wednesday fitness session 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting 20th of February, 2008
Beginner 1B - Saturday on ice 8:30 am - 9:30 am starting 23rd of February, 2008
Course duration: February to June 2008
Age group: 6 - 9

*All equipment will be provided for the on ice session.
**Please note that the HKAIH reserves the right for the final say in choosing applicants.

There are only 20 spots available for “Learning from Barry” each week and all spots are on a first come first serve basis. The cost for “Stick & Puck” is $100 for HKAHC Members and $120 for non-members.

Good news to fellow HKAHC Members: the "Learning from Barry" and "Stick & Puck" sessions at Dragon Centre on Sundays will be back this Sunday! The sessions will start from this Sunday October 14 until November 25.

"Stick & Puck" session: 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm,
"Learning from Barry" session: 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

The cost for "Stick and Puck" is $100 for HKAHC Members and $120 for non-members.
For the "Learning from Barry", if you register with us on the Thursday immediately before each session, the cost for HKAHC Members is $250, and Non-members $300. If not, the drop in rate at Dragon Centre is $300 for HKAHC Members and $350 for non-members. However, there is no guarantee of spot for drop-in players.

*The registered Full-Time Players of HKAHL Fall/Winter League will also be entitled to one free 2-hour Learning from Barry session of $250 in value or two 1-hour Stick and Puck sessions totaling $200 in value. 
 
All sessions will be held in Skyrink, Dragon Centre, SSP. Schedule will be posted on our website. Pre-registration by players for these sessions are required. If you have any question please email to havefun@hkahc.com   or call him at 2863-4365 during the office hour.

FREE TRY-OUT FOR HKAHC MEMBERS AT NEW RINK ON OCTOBER 8

Thanks to the senior management of the ice rink at the newly opened shopping mall "Elements" at MTR Kowloon Station, Tsim Sha Tsui, HKAHC will have a 3 hour free try out sessions at new rink on Monday, October 8, 2007 from 7:00 pm.

On October 8, we plan to organize 3 games. Due to the size of the new rink, the games will be played on a 4 on 4 format. In other words, there will only be 72 spots for skaters and 6 spots for Goalies.

HKAHC Members who are interested in taking part in the try-out sessions are strongly advised to register early. Acceptance is based on a first come first served basis with priority given to full time players of the current HKAHL League, to be followed by part time players, and then other members.

本會得到地鐵九龍站 Elements 商場新落成啟用的全新溜冰管理層的大力支持，免費給予本會會員於10月8日星期日晚上7時至10時，一連三個小時，試用新溜冰場。我們會舉辦3場比賽，以4打4形式比賽。所以我們只有72個球員和6個守門員名額，名額有限，先到先得。冬季聯賽的全職球員將有優先權，繼而為冬季聯賽的半職球員，然後是本會其他會員。

Summer League ended.
Our Summer League has just been successful completed. We trust that everyone enjoyed very much playing in the new rink at Mega Ice.

We would like to congratulate Cyclops for winning the Summer League Premiere Division Championship and Kings the Regular Division Championship. Once again, thank you all for your participation and support of HKAHC. Looking forward to seeing you again in our Winter League which is due to start on September 23.
