Many players neglect a proper warm-up before a hockey game, and this can not only lead to injury, but also can prevent you from playing at 100% of your potential. Warm-up is not just for shooting pucks and trying out your latest moves in front of your teammates and fans. Players should typically do a few hard laps around their half of the ice in both directions to raise their heart-rate and get a good supply of blood flowing to their muscles.
After that, it's a good idea to get a good stretch going. Pay special attention to your thighs and groin, but don't forget your core and upper body as well. Getting loose and stretched out early before playing not only helps you reach your full potential, but will help your body prepare for the strains of a game - checks, shooting, hard sprints, and the occasional bump or collision.
Lets make sure we treat ourselves like the athletes we are!
Kyle Simms
Safety Issue
Players under the age of 16 - MUST wear a neck guard and a full facial protective equipment.
Players under the age of 18 - MUST wear a full facial protective equipment.
All players MUST wear full gear during games, including Shoulder Pads and Facial protective equipment.

The HKAHC has been working hard to provide a safe and enjoyable playing experience for all players that have participated in our league and we appreciate all the support that, you, the players have given us.
The main purpose of the Novice Division is for beginners to get a chance to play and to experience the game while also improving their skills. It is an environment where players can play with others of a similar skill level.
Players with higher skill level might be invited to play on Sunday RD and players who have difficulty to play on Sunday might be invited to play on Tuesday ND. We hope that by closely monitoring the quality of the divisions, we can maintain a fun and safe environment for all participants.
Thank you for all the support you have given to us and in turn we will continue to give back to you in the form of providing a fun and safe environment for games.
We would like to officially inform everyone that Mr Kyle Simms is an on-ice officials' supervisor and his duty is overseeing the performance of officials and the game in general. He is present at HKAHC games to ensure league policy is upheld, and as a witness for the HKAHC regarding on-ice incidents. He will not influence on-ice penalties, such as major and minor penalties, but will serve as an advisor for the HKAHC regarding suspensions and discipline.
HKAIH Assistant Coach and Professional Referee, Mr Kyle Simms, will have a Question of the Week on our Referee's Webpage. There will be a weekly Question and Answer or a "Did you know?" section. We hope that by having this section, players have a chance to ask questions about rules or regulations they are unfamiliar with.
